Kane and Lynch

Thanks for reading the first post of Fall Damage, the blog that gives you honest video game reviews. Not all games may be the most current, but are usually worth playing. The first game on the chopping block is Kane and Lynch for the Xbox 360.
I'll admit it, I've never played hitman. I probably never will either. It's just not my style of game, but I can't fault the series for it. However the developers have sparked my interest in Kane and Lynch do to it being more shooting oriented than sneaking around. From the very begining sequence it has a very cinematic presentation. Even though you know the people you are playing as are criminals you want them to succeed. No spoilers, but you actually care when certain major events happen, which for me is reserved for RPG's.
From a technical standpoint, the graphics are passable but not fantastic. I never look in awe at textures, but I also never vomit my anus either. The AI is probably the biggest downfall of the game, which is very unfortunate when the game relies so heavily on squad based tactics. The enemies are dumber than the image below:

As you can see, that is plain dumb...or perhaps the greatest thing ever. The weapon selection didn't have me thrilled either. The levels were all different, but all seemed like I had been there in other games. The difficulty is rather on the easy side, I started on the hard mode and finished the game in under ten hours. The only problem I had was with an esourt mission at the end of the game. The person being escorted would simply run into bullets AHEAD of me.
Still, I couldn't put the damn thing down. The story while not origonal was more engrossing than I had expected. I did not get the chance to try out the online co-op modes, though I've heard good things. The Multiple endings are definatly worth checking out, I wasn't sure if I did the "right" one the first time. You'll just have to see what I mean.

Fall Damage: Yes
Buy/Rent/Wait/Break: Rent! With so many great FPS's out right now, it's hard to reccomend this over Orange Box or Halo 3, but it's worth playing
